About Float First
Kelly Rogers Hale created the Float First organization to bring safe water techniques to children...
Kelly Rogers Hale
Kelly Rogers-Hale is a third generation instructor/coach - both her father and grandfather were coaches. Kelly joined her family at her father's swim school at age 13. Naturally, all instructors had to learn to teach both private and group lessons, but Kelly is passionate about private lesson instruction as private lessons allow children to attain skills faster. With 46 years of experience in the water, Kelly is able to recognize and handle every situation with her aquatic insight and understand how every swimmer may need individual guidance and/or attention. Kelly has experience at every level of swim instruction from infancy to competitive to adult. She strives to help every swimmer love and respect the water, along with invaluable water survival skills.

Mae Ross
Mae Ross is a year round private swim instructor that has a passion for teaching young ones. She grew up by the pool swimming for Mill Creek Towne, then with RMSC and has also been trained as a lifeguard. She was introduced to Float First by her sister who began training as a coach for Kelly in 2014. Mae has experience with swimmers of many experience levels and approaches teaching with patience and has a primary focus on water safety. She is perceptive and draws on the individual strengths and weaknesses of each client to aid them in becoming a better swimmer.
